Welcome to a History of Photography Website

Our collection of photographs covers an aspect of photography that spans the 1870s and 1880s. A world when more people than ever were getting to know the world around them. A time where photographs were abundant and armchair travelers could settle in for trip to a far away place from the comfort of their living rooms.

The Collection

Our prints are of high quality. They are unmounted single albumen prints in perfect condition made by photographers who knew their subjects. The poses were relaxed and genuine not those hollow shells that exist in the typographic images.
